Scenario #3: Jeffrey Provides Feedback
Background. Jeffrey is a staff member with the departmental Learning and Development team. As part of his responsibilities, he helps review the submissions in the online SCRAWL writing course. It is 9:00 am on a Wednesday morning when Jeffrey receives an email indicating that an assignment has been submitted for review. Jeffrey is not busy this morning, so he decides to open it.
Scenario. Jeffrey opens the e-mail from the online writing course entitled “Assignment submitted for feedback.” Jeffrey clicks on a link within the e-mail that takes him immediately to a web page with Jessica’s assignment.
On the page that Jeffrey sees, he is offered an editable version of Jessica’s assignment. Jeffrey is unable to delete any of Jessica’s work, instead any deleted words are turned red with a strike-through. Any added text is written in red text. This indicates Jeffrey’s suggested edits to Jessica.
A second box labeled “Comments” is displayed. Jeffrey types in additional comments in this box.
A third box is labeled “Grade”. Because grades are only provided for the final assessment, the box is greyed out to indicate that it is not used.
Jeffrey double-checks his work, and then clicks on the “submit” button at the bottom to submit the assignment.
